dot com turns 25yrs old this week!

Its hard to remember a time when dot com wasn’t a household fraze. 25 years ago Symbolics a Massachusetts computer company was the first to register a .com domain symbolics.com. In March 1985 the cost to register a domain name was $70. Now you can register domain names for around $10. Also consider that most domain names registered from 1985-1995 are worth well over $50k now.  Most of them are 3 or 4 letter combinations which are all completely gone now. It may even be tough to find a .com w/ a 5 letter combination. In 1995 it was recorded that 120,000 domain names were registered. Now in 2010 there are well over 11 million! Who said .com was a fad.  Think of all of the jobs the dot com had created. I have no clue what I personally would be doing with out dot com. So tonight when you are out with your friends give a birthday toast to dot com. Happy 25th!!

Viatell 2nd Gen. custom build PC’s released TODAY!!!

The tier 1 system price has stayed the same and the processor is now 2.7ghz ugpraded from the first gen 2.2ghz, also it now has a 500gb hd instead of the 400gb. Still at the same price point of $399.99.

The tier 2 system now has a Triple Core 2.7ghz processor instead of the first gen 2.2ghz. Also the video card has changed to the ATI 4650 a good mid range video gaming card.

The tier 3 system now has a Quad Core Processor @ 2.8ghz instead of the first gen 2.7ghz. Also the video card has changed to the Nvidia 250gts which has replaced the 9800gt in the nvidia line.

The 2nd Gen Paramount system specs will be released later this week. Also look soon for a Viatell Mini. It will be a multi media system w/ a HD video card so you can hook it up to your HDTV w/ HD quality. It will have a blue-ray drive and be priced at between $600-$800.

We now have the Elocom Egg Mouse

Elecom launched the first egg mouse in the late 1980s when Windows 95 was launched. At that time there was no specific design for a mouse. Eleco launched its first egg mouse at that time.To commemorate the 20th anniversary of the birth of egg mouse, Elecom has launched a more sophisticated three button optical mouse in the shape of an egg. The Elecom egg mouse is available in six colors- white, grey, blue, orange, black and of course pink. The egg mouse with its glossy finish, familiar hand friendly design is well suited for women also.

Elecom egg mouse measures 65x 86.5×46 mm, weigh 80g and will be available at Viatell in mid Jan for ($29).
